The Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) is the vital link between City University of Hong Kong and the community in terms of the exchange of knowledge, which includes know-how, technology, skills and expertise, for both commercial and non- commercial applications. Through knowledge transfer, the Office aims to forge close ties with industry, business and the wider public for the betterment of Hong Kong and beyond. KTO plays a pivotal role in the protection, dissemination, exchange, and commercialization of knowledge created at City University of Hong Kong for the economic and social well-being of the community. KTO aspires to become the gateway for easy access to the intellectual resources nurtured by the University.

Hong Kong Cyberport is an innovative digital community with about 1,400 technology companies. With a vision to be the hub for digital technology thereby creating a new economic driver for Hong Kong, Cyberport is committed to nurturing a vibrant tech ecosystem by cultivating talent, promoting entrepreneurship among youth, supporting start-ups on their growth journey, fostering industry development by promoting strategic collaboration with local and international partners, and integrating new and traditional economies by accelerating digital adoption in the public and private sectors. Cyberport focuses on fostering the growth of major technologies application namely FinTech, smart living, digital entertainment; esports, as well as technology development such as artificial intelligence (AI) & big data, blockchain and cybersecurity.

Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) operates a full start-up support system to nurture technology start-ups in Hong Kong. The one-stop sequential programmes powered by HKSTP cover aspiring entrepreneurs at various stages of development, from crystallising their ideas at STEP, to commercialising them for market entry at Incubation, and expanding businesses regionally and globally at LEAP. HKSTP’s close relationship with the private and public sectors in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including a number of cross-border joint initiatives, also offers immense opportunities to applicants.

PolyU IfE creates a platform to foster innovation and entrepreneurial culture, practices as a new model to achieve knowledge transfer, and creates an organic ambience facilitating the young community to practice entrepreneurial spirit through:

  • Seed funding to support startup ventures of students and alumni,

  • “Out-of-the-classroom” entrepreneurial learning experience,

  • Partnership with like-minded organizations and incubation resources
